Say hello to comfort with ergonomic accessories
For many people, a day at work means several hours spent in front of a computer screen. The problem with this type of work? Repetitive motions and poor posture can cause pain and discomfort. However, there is a way to reduce and even avoid these problems… Just use ergonomic accessories. They are designed to promote good posture and keep you comfortable. And remember: prevention is always better than cure!
Chair
To be ergonomic, your chair must be easily adjustable. Adjust the height of the seat so that you are able to put your feet flat on the floor. Do not hesitate to get a footrest if necessary. Your seatback should be tilted back slightly (about 5 degrees). Also remember to adjust the armrests so that you are comfortably seated without preventing you from sliding your chair under your desk.
Screen
Use a stand (fixed or removable) for your screen. This will allow you to adjust the positioning of your monitor. It should be about an arm's length from you and at eye level.
Keyboard and mouse
Opt for a flat or thin keyboard to reduce the tilt of your wrists. For the same reason,
it is not recommended to raise the rear legs of this tool. Your mouse should be very close to the keyboard. Make sure your hand stays in a straight line with your forearm. A wrist rest is always useful when using the keyboard and mouse frequently. In addition, a retractable support suspended under the workstation is often ideal for adopting a good posture.
Telephone
If you often use the phone in multitasking, get a headset. The position
“shoulder up and neck tilt” used to hold the phone should be avoided.
