Happiness in the office, as seen by Daniel Sorovacu of Endress + Hauser Canada
December is the perfect time to plan big or small changes for the next year. And although the results are primarily aesthetic, the benefits go far beyond the simple appearance of the premises. For example, today we offer you the testimony of Mr. Daniel Sorovacu, Director of Quebec Operations and Regional Sales Director for Endress + Hauser Canada.
Twenty years ago, after moving into the premises of the St-Laurent borough in Montreal, Mr. Sorovacu and his colleagues were ripe for change this year!
"We had been in the same building for a long time and we had never made a change," said the businessman. Our furniture had a look that dated back to the 1990s and our workstations were rather closed, surrounded by several very high partitions. In the end, we felt like we were working in a small space, running out of space and having too much furniture. For the employees, the situation was not always the most pleasant and motivating. »
It is therefore from this observation that the management decided to change everything and to call on the advisers of OBURO.
Make way for changes!
“The employees immediately seemed happier,” Mr. Sorovacu hastens to mention. Even today, they are more dynamic and more productive. If I had to do it again, I would use exactly the same approach, without any hesitation! »

“We wanted to create a friendlier and warmer workspace, and the OBURO consultants enabled us to achieve this objective,” says Mr. Sorovacu. We have found a type of furniture that allows us to save space, and the separation between the different workstations is lower, which gives the impression of working in a much more open place, but in which the employees still have some privacy. In addition, our furniture was built in Quebec, a particularity to which we were very attached! »
And the game was worth the candle
Changes were quickly felt within the various teams of the Quebec subsidiary of Endress + Hauser Canada.“The employees immediately seemed happier,” Mr. Sorovacu hastens to mention. Even today, they are more dynamic and more productive. If I had to do it again, I would use exactly the same approach, without any hesitation! »
